The Voice Within: A New Moon Immersion into Embodied Expression
The Voice Within: A New Moon Immersion into Embodied Expression
The New Moon is a seed point: a moment to turn inward, listen deeply, and plant an intention for what is ready to grow.
Under the New Moon in Cancer, this invitation becomes especially tender: to return home to the body, soften the places that have been guarding, and reconnect with sound as a source of belonging, emotional truth, and inner nourishment.
In this full-day immersion, opera-trained vocalist and embodiment facilitator Camila Rivera guides participants through a ceremonial journey of breath, movement, vocal activation, individual voice work, and sound healing. This is a space to explore the voice not as performance, but as a living expression of the body, the nervous system, and the emotional self.
The day moves through the five elements as a complete map of human expression:
-
*Earth* — grounding into the base of the body and expanding its capacity to resonate
-
*Water* — inviting fluidity, emotion, and movement, allowing the body to lead
-
*Fire* — awakening breath, energy, vitality, and inner power
-
*Air* — opening play, lightness, and the sounds we may never have given ourselves permission to make
-
*Ether* — accessing the subtler frequencies that were always there, waiting to be heard
Each element builds on the last, creating the conditions for sound, emotion, and hidden parts of the self to emerge in a safe and embodied way.
This is not a singing class. There is no audience, no judgment, and no need to sound beautiful. You may laugh, cry, shake, whisper, hum, roar, or discover sounds you did not know were available to you. The invitation is to feel the voice from the inside — as vibration, sensation, release, and aliveness.
In the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to receive individual voice work in a masterclass-style setting, held and witnessed by the group. This offers a rare experience of being truly seen and heard, while also learning through the voices and processes of others.
As the New Moon peaks at 5:43pm, the day closes with a sound healing ceremony. Crystal bowls and live voice create a field of rest and integration, allowing the body to absorb what has opened and seal the day with softness, clarity, and intention.
You will leave with a deeper relationship to your own sound, practical tools for breath and vocal expression, and a felt sense of what it means to come home to yourself through the voice.
No singing experience required. Open to all levels, including trained singers.
What to bring: comfortable clothing for movement, something warm for the sound healing, a journal, and an open body.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Camila Rivera is a sound healer and voice coach based in Bali, holding a Master's degree in Opera Performance and almost a decade of somatic and trauma-informed practice. Her Sound Healing Ceremony combines crystal singing bowls, shamanic instruments, and a live operatic voice into an active, guided journey through the chakras, something rare in the world of sound healing. Rather than passive relaxation, participants are guided to stay present, breathe, and move with the sound as it works through the body. Camila works with individuals, couples, and groups in Bali and online worldwide, and has facilitated at festivals and retreats across Europe and Southeast Asia.
