RESONANCE: A Live Violin & Electronic Journey from Stillness to Dance
RESONANCE: A Live Violin & Electronic Journey from Stillness to Dance
RESONANCE is a 90-minute live musical journey through stillness, deep listening, rhythm and embodied movement.
Created and performed by electronic artist, composer and violinist Mikhail Talanov, the experience combines live electric violin, atmospheric electronic music, improvisation and an evolving DJ set.
The journey begins in stillness. Participants are invited to settle into the space, close their eyes if they wish, and experience layers of ambient sound and live violin without the need to do or achieve anything.
Gradually, pulse and rhythm begin to emerge. The musical landscape evolves through downtempo and organic textures into deeper, more energetic electronic music, inviting the body to move naturally and intuitively. There is no choreography and no prescribed way to participate — movement may remain subtle or develop into full-bodied dance.
At its peak, the experience becomes an expressive collective dance space, with live violin woven into the electronic set. The final part gradually reduces intensity, returning toward spaciousness, listening and integration.
RESONANCE explores the relationship between listening and movement: how sound can shift attention from the thinking mind toward direct sensory experience, and how stillness and dance can exist as different points on the same continuum.
No previous meditation or dance experience is required. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes that allow free movement and to bring water.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Mikhail Talanov is a Bali-based electronic artist, violinist, composer and music producer whose work explores the space between deep listening, embodied movement and emotional experience.
Classically trained as a violinist at the Gnesin Academy of Music in Moscow, Mikhail has spent more than two decades performing and creating music across a wide range of contexts, from concert stages and contemporary classical projects to electronic music, immersive performances and conscious dance spaces. Over the course of his career, he has performed at more than 1,000 concerts and developed a musical language that brings together acoustic and electric violin, ambient textures, cinematic soundscapes and contemporary electronic production.
His current work moves fluidly between meditative sound journeys and rhythm-driven dance experiences. In his deeper listening sessions, layers of live violin, ambient sound, electronics and improvisation create a space for slowing down, inward attention and personal reflection. In his dance-oriented performances, these same elements expand into downtempo, organic, melodic, bass and other forms of electronic music, building a journey from stillness into movement and release.
Rather than treating meditation and dance as separate practices, Mikhail is interested in the continuum between them — using sound, rhythm and live musicianship to guide people through different states of presence, connection and aliveness.
