Every year, on the eve of Nyepi — Bali's Day of Silence — enormous effigies are carried through the streets by torchlight. Towering, terrifying, magnificent creatures born from bamboo and papier-mâché and collective devotion. They are paraded, celebrated, and then burned — an act of purification before the new year begins.This workshop invites you to hold that tradition in your hands. You will sculpt your own miniature Ogoh-ogoh from air-dry clay — giving form to one of the most powerful expressions of Balinese culture.You do not need to be an artist. You need only to be curious, and willing to let the clay guide you.Take your creature home. It carries the spirit of the island with it.
