ITALIAN NIGHT AT Lumi
An Evening of Wine
28 August 2026
This August, Lumi turns south to Italy, tracing a path through Sicily, Puglia and Basilicata. Five wines lead the way through these three regions, each poured alongside Italian-inspired savoury canapés, with our specialist on hand to share where every bottle comes from and what makes it worth knowing
Come by, taste your way through the evening, 6.00 PM – 9.00 PM.
Five best Italian selections presented by IWS Thailand.
Planeta La Segreta Grillo
Sicilia DOC, 2023
A white from Sicily, made by a family who's been growing wine there since 1694. Grillo is one of the island's own grapes. Ranked #38 The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands 2026
Note: citrus, green apple, a herby edge, a saline finish.
Planeta Rosé
Sicilia DOC, 2023
Nero d'Avola and Syrah, also from Sicily, light and easy to drink.
Note: Floral, strawberry and red currant, mineral note.
I Muri Negroamaro
Puglia IGP, 2023
Puglia. The name means "the walls," after the stone walls that surround the old vineyards, built from the very stones cleared to plant the vines. Negroamaro translates to "black and bitter," though the wine itself is generous.
Note: dark berries, smooth, warmth without weight.
Pipoli Aglianico del Vulture
Aglianico del Vulture DOC, 2021
Grown on the slopes of an extinct volcano in Basilicata, in soil that's still mineral and volcanic.
Note: dark fruit, leather, spice, the most structured pour of the night.
Coppi Siniscalco Primitivo
Puglia IGP, 2020
Puglia again, from a house making wine since 1882.
Note: black plum, sweet spice, full and generous, the same grape that becomes Zinfandel in California.
Buona serata awaits.
