Fur Coat is the project of Venezuelan DJ and producer Sergio Muñoz, originally a duo before evolving into his solo identity. Now based in Barcelona, Fur Coat has carved a unique sound that blends melodic techno, progressive, and cinematic grooves, striking a balance between emotional depth and club energy. His big break came in 2010 when Damian Lazarus signed his debut EP on Crosstown Rebels, followed by global recognition with the anthem You and I (2012). Since then, Sergio has played at iconic venues like DC10 Ibiza, Fabric London, Watergate Berlin, and Warung Brazil, while also contributing mixes to BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix and Balance’s mix series.

In 2017, he launched his own imprint, Oddity Records, which showcases both his music and that of rising talent in the melodic techno scene. The 2020 album Polyphony highlighted Fur Coat’s evolution, layering ambient, breaks, and deep progressive touches while still carrying his trademark melodic tension. Today, Fur Coat continues to tour worldwide while producing forward-thinking tracks and remixes for artists like Stephan Bodzin and Sasha. The project remains celebrated for its cinematic, groove-driven sound and ability to stay fresh while staying true to its roots.
