Freedom through Awareness: Group Therapy for Substance Use

Multiple Sessions

Alternating Group Format:
Week One: Open Group Discussion
Week Two: Group Exercise focused on one substance-related topic

In many circles, the conversation around substance use is often avoided, misunderstood, or oversimplified. Yet, behind every pattern lies a deeper longing. The reason you use substances is unique to you. Substances can be seen as medicines, each with its own function. However, when overused, they can harm our relationships, work, health, and even ruin lives.

This session invites you into a compassionate and non-judgmental exploration of your relationship with substances. We will participate in an intimate conversation facilitated by a psychotherapist, allowing you to share your honest challenges, fears, victories, and goals related to substances. Every other week, we will dive into a different substance-related topic using facilitated exercises to equip you with tools, skills, insight, and information.

Changing our relationship to substances takes time. This session offers ongoing professional and community support for your goals. It is open to anyone —whether you’re just beginning to question your relationship with substances or you’ve been working toward change for some time.

Key benefits:

  • Receive ongoing professional and community support for your substance use goals
  • Foster clarity and insight into your relationship with substances
  • Release shame, isolation, and experience unity from mirrored experiences with peers
  • Learn applicable tools and skills to support your substance use goals
