Écran Nomade – « French Touch » 

Since 2022, Jérôme Lopez and Xavier Garcia have been developing a body of work combining live cinema and participatory creation, exploring the relationship between moving images and sound. With Écran Nomade – “French Touch”, they present a project centred on a selection of contemporary French animated films.

French animation is distinguished by its vitality, aesthetic diversity, and the richness of its narrative forms. Écran Nomade – “French Touch” draws on a selection of animated short films developed through a partnership with GOBELINS Paris and Studios Autour de Minuit. Created by a new generation of filmmakers and artists, these films reveal a remarkable variety of styles, rhythms, and perspectives.

The films provide the basis for an original musical composition, performed live by Xavier Garcia and Jérôme Lopez. Their work combines contemporary music, electronics, and sonic materials, creating a dynamic dialogue between image and sound in real time.

Écran Nomade – “French Touch” is conceived as a mobile and adaptable project, designed to be presented in a wide range of settings: theatres, festivals, cultural venues, or non-traditional spaces. With a selection of 18 films, the programme can take different forms and be curated according to the audience, age groups, and specific presentation contexts.

Depuis 2022, Jérôme Lopez et Xavier Garcia développent un travail de ciné-concert et de création participative autour de l’image animée et de la création sonore. Avec Écran Nomade – « French Touch », ils proposent un dispositif consacré à un corpus de films d’animation français contemporains.

L’animation française se distingue par sa vitalité, sa diversité esthétique et la richesse de ses formes narratives. Écran Nomade – « French Touch » prend appui sur une sélection de courts-métrages d’animation issus d’un partenariat avec GOBELINS Paris et les Studios Autour de Minuit. Portés par différentes et différents auteur·ices d’une nouvelle génération, ces films révèlent une grande variété de styles, de rythmes et de regards.

Les films constituent le support d’un travail musical original, interprété en direct par Xavier Garcia et Jérôme Lopez. Leur création mêle musique contemporaine, électronique et matières sonores, dans une approche qui fait dialoguer l’image et le son en temps réel.

Écran Nomade – « French Touch » est conçu comme un projet mobile et adaptable, pensé pour circuler dans des contextes variés : salles de spectacle, festivals, lieux culturels ou espaces non dédiés. Avec une sélection de 18 films, le programme peut être proposé sous différentes formes et faire l’objet d’une programmation à la carte, en fonction des publics, des âges et des contextes de diffusion.
