Axé is the life force, vital energy, or spiritual power that flows through all things.
In Brazil, when you say someone “has axé,” it means they radiate a vibrant aura — magnetic presence, fresh and healthy energy, joy, and positivity.
To greet someone with “axé” is to offer blessings: strength, protection, good fortune, vitality, and happiness.
In prayers, it carries the meaning of “so be it” or “amen.” Origin: Yorubá (West Africa)
Axé comes from the Yoruba spiritual tradition, still practiced in parts of Africa and throughout the Americas — especially in Afro-Brazilian religions such as Candomblé and Umbanda, where it remains a central and sacred concept.
